A 37-year-old Everett man, Mikel Escandon-Tibillin, has been arrested for leading a drug distribution ring in the North Sound, following a months-long investigation. The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office identified Escandon-Tibillin as the ringleader after initially investigating 34-year-old Austin Grimme of Bellingham for drug and gun trafficking. Ukrainian Troops Advance into Russian Territory Amid Fierce Kursk Battles

Russian forces are battling to repel Ukrainian troops from the Kursk region, where Ukrainian forces have reportedly advanced up to 15 kilometers into Russian territory. Despite official Russian claims of halting these advances, the conflict has resulted in civilian casualties and has prompted Russia to take defensive measures. While Kyiv remains silent, the incursion is seen as one of Ukraine's most significant cross-border operations since the war began, potentially aimed at drawing Russian reserves away from key fronts in Ukraine. The situation remains fluid, with broader implications for both morale and future negotiations.
