Inventory Crisis Deepens: Snohomish County Active Listings Drop by a Whopping 40%!

King County experienced a slight decrease in median sales prices for combined single-family homes and condos in September compared to last year, with the price settling at $797,000. In contrast, Snohomish County saw a rise in median sales prices. Inventory shortages persisted in both areas, more severely in Snohomish County with a 40% year-over-year drop in active listings. Across the 26 counties surveyed by NWMLS, a modest increase in median sales prices was observed. The real estate market is expected to slow down in the fall and winter, with current high interest rates further impacting buyer purchasing power. Given the ongoing demand and limited inventory, home prices might surge approximately 5% by next September.

Governor Inslee Celebrates with Evergreen: A Half-Century Milestone and a Visionary New Facility!

Evergreen Recovery Centers, in its 50th year, inaugurated a new facility at its original Summit Avenue campus in Everett, WA. Governor Jay Inslee and other notable figures attended the celebration. Founded with a modest house purchase in 1973, Evergreen now serves over 7,000 individuals annually across several counties. The new facility will notably enhance its mother’s program, adding living units, child care classrooms, and a state-first pediatric transitional care facility. With the rise in Neonatal Opiate Withdrawal Syndrome (NOWS) due to increased fentanyl-related disorders, this facility aims to promote closer mother-infant interaction. The existing campus will be transformed into a women’s residential center named after Walt Crosby, a former visionary director. The project received substantial funding from various entities. Additionally, by the end of 2025, Evergreen plans to launch a housing program to further support families recovering from substance use disorders.

Santos's Campaign Treasurer Admits to Fraud: How Deep Does the Conspiracy Go?

Rep. George Santos is facing intensified legal challenges with a new indictment accusing him of identity theft and unauthorized use of donors' credit cards. This comes on top of previous charges related to financial crimes. Recently, Nancy Marks, the treasurer for Santos's campaign, admitted to fraud and implicated Santos in manipulating campaign finance reports. While Santos had denied past charges and labeled the investigation as biased, U.S. Attorney Breon Peace stated that Santos included misleading loans and donations in his campaign records. The congressman also reportedly misled about his personal background during his candidacy. Despite the mounting allegations, Santos has no plans to resign from his congressional seat.

Seattle Kraken Fans, Prepare for a Nostalgic Ride: Kinisky is Back on the Airwaves!

Seattle Kraken's radio broadcasts will now feature the voice of Al Kinisky, a former commentator for the Everett Silvertips. Known for his signature "Bring on the funnel cakes!" victory tagline with the Silvertips, Kinisky took a break in 2016 to focus on family. As he returns to sports commentary with the Kraken via Sports Radio KJR, fans can expect in-depth game insights, palpable enthusiasm, and a deep connection to the local Seattle hockey community from him. While it's uncertain if his famous tagline will make a comeback, Kinisky's presence promises a touch of nostalgia for long-time followers and fresh excitement for new listeners.
