Avalanche Warning in Cascades: Dense Snow and Rain Increase Danger
The Cascades have been issued a level 4 avalanche warning due to intense and dense snowfall following a dry November. The snowpack, especially on steeper slopes, is highly unstable and at risk of avalanches, both natural and human-induced. Meteorologist Robert Hahn warns of the dangers posed by the rapidly accumulating snow on weak early-season snowpack. The situation may worsen with expected heavy rain, heightening the avalanche threat and potential for flooding in Western Washington.
