Washington State in Whiteout: Historic Snowfall Forces Stevens Pass Closure
Stevens Pass has been closed due to severe weather, including poor visibility, strong winds, and heavy snow, affecting the area from the Iron Goat Rest Area to Nason Ridge Road. No detours are available, and the reopening time is unknown. A blizzard warning is in effect, and local resorts have warned of potential disruptions. The pass experienced nearly 20 inches of snow in 24 hours, leading to blizzard conditions and avalanche control efforts.

Gunmen Storm Ecuadorian TV Station, Sparking Terrorism Charges and National Uproar
Ecuador faced a severe crisis when hooded gunmen interrupted a live TV broadcast in Guayaquil, following the escape of drug lord Adolfo Macias. This prompted President Noboa to declare a state of emergency, intensifying security measures across the country. The attackers at the TV station, charged with terrorism, are part of a larger pattern of violence attributed to the Los Choneros gang, known for its links to Mexico's Sinaloa cartel.
