Netanyahu Rejects Palestinian Statehood, Contrasting U.S. Policy

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has openly rejected the idea of Palestinian statehood after the Gaza conflict, a stance that sharply contrasts with U.S. policy. He insists on Israel's need for security control over territories west of the Jordan River and highlights the importance of being able to disagree with allies, including the United States. The U.S. State Department, in response, reaffirms its position that any post-conflict plans must involve the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu also commits to continuing the fight against Hamas until a definitive victory is achieved. The conflict in Gaza has resulted in a significant Palestinian death toll, including children.
