Snohomish County's Kayak Point: Summer Reopening in Sight Following Major Renovations
Snohomish County's popular Kayak Point Park is set to remain closed until summer due to a $20 million renovation project. The construction includes a new boat launch and parking lot updates. The project, initially expected to conclude early 2024, is now slated for completion by late May or mid-June. The park, featuring 3,300 feet of shoreline, attracts 180,000 visitors annually and offers various recreational activities. The construction schedule is planned around the fish window to minimize aquatic life disturbance. The reopening will allow access to the new boat launch and parking lot, with further phases of construction to follow, dependent on additional funding. The county is also exploring partnerships with environmental organizations for future projects.

U.S. and British Militaries Intensify Airstrikes Against Houthi Forces in Yemen
U.S. and U.K. forces, supported by allied nations, carried out significant airstrikes against Houthi forces in Yemen. The operation included Tomahawk missile strikes and F-18 jet attacks, targeting key Houthi installations to disrupt their capabilities. This action was in response to the Houthis' ongoing attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea, with the aim to restore regional stability and protect global trade routes.
