Shift in Strategy: Kataib Hezbollah to Pause Military Operations Against US
Kataib Hezbollah, a dominant Iran-backed militia in Iraq, has unexpectedly ceased its military operations against US forces, aiming to alleviate pressure on the Iraqi government. This decision follows a drone strike killing three US service members, amid ongoing tensions and US retaliation against militia activities. The group asserts its independence from Iran in these actions and aligns its strategy with diplomatic efforts led by the Iraqi Prime Minister to reduce regional tensions and negotiate the US military's presence in Iraq.
