Local Woman Faces First-Degree Murder Charges in Daughter's Death, Bail Set at $5 Million
A Darrington woman has been taken into custody on charges of murdering her 5-year-old daughter, whom she reported dead to the police two weeks post-mortem. Suffering from hallucinations, she claimed voices directed her to kill her child for a celestial ascension. The child was fatally injured in her car, and her body was left concealed before being buried. The woman, having initially considered suicide, chose to confess to authorities instead, leading to her arrest and a high bail set during her court appearance.

Ancient Funerary System Unearthed in Mexico Sheds Light on Unique Burial Practices
Archaeologists in Pozo de Ibarra, Jalisco, uncovered an ancient burial site revealing a complex funerary system with at least seven male skulls, some exhibiting cranial modification, and segregated long bones, dating back to the Amapa cultural era (500-850 AD). The discovery, made during a sewage network construction, hints at a unique ritual possibly linked to the foundation of a settlement, with further research planned to explore this unprecedented find.
