Snohomish's Environmental Projects Flourish with $6 Million in Federal Grants
Snohomish County's Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has received nearly $6 million in federal funding to support the Food and Farming Center and the Chinook Marsh Restoration Project. The funding aims to enhance local agriculture and restore vital habitats, contributing to the county's environmental and food security goals. The Food and Farming Center will offer infrastructure to local farmers, while the Chinook Marsh project will restore tidal habitats for salmon and improve flood protection. These initiatives demonstrate the importance of federal support in fostering sustainable communities and environmental stewardship.
