James McNeal Held on Murder Charges After Woman Found Dead in South Seattle

Former Bothell City Council member James McNeal, 58, was arrested on suspicion of murder after a young woman, Liliya Guyvoronsky, was found strangled in a South Seattle home. Following the incident, McNeal, who attempted to injure himself, is now hospitalized. The case came to police attention through a 911 call made by someone claiming to be McNeal's attorney. Residents and friends expressed shock and disbelief, noting McNeal’s unlikely connection to the crime. McNeal's bail hearing is set for Thursday.
