Shots Fired in Yesler Terrace: Suspect in Custody

Seattle police arrested a 29-year-old fugitive in the Yesler Terrace neighborhood following a standoff. The incident occurred on Friday evening near Yesler Terrace Park. Officers responded to reports of a shooting at 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street. Upon arrival, they encountered the suspect, who fired shots that struck a passing vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was unharmed and later reported the damage to the police. The suspect, armed with a handgun, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm. He was booked into King County Jail.
