Enjoy Summer Early at Kayak Point Park, Reopening June 14

Kayak Point Regional Park in Stanwood will reopen its day-use area on June 14, 2024, following a year-long closure for construction. The pier remains closed for summer construction. Phase 1 renovations included a boat launch and parking improvements. Phase 2 is pending.

FBI Seattle Office Standoff Ends Peacefully, Suspect in Custody

A woman armed with a handgun was taken into custody following a standoff at the FBI building in Seattle. The incident occurred in a publicly accessible waiting area where visitors are typically buzzed into the main lobby. Negotiations with law enforcement successfully resolved the situation without any injuries. The woman's identity has not been released.
