Deadly Night in Seattle: Two Separate Shootings Result in Death and Critical Injury

A man was killed and a teenage girl was seriously injured in two separate shootings in South Seattle early Sunday, June 9, 2024. The first shooting occurred at around 2 a.m. near Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park, where a 16-year-old girl was critically injured. The second incident happened at about 3:48 a.m. outside the Lumen Field Event Center, resulting in the death of a 27-year-old man. Police recovered a handgun but have made no arrests and have not connected the two incidents. Investigations are ongoing.

Global Delegates Convene in Switzerland for Critical Ukraine Peace Talks

Switzerland is hosting a peace summit on June 15-16, 2024, at the Bürgenstock Resort to develop a framework for lasting peace in Ukraine. Nearly 90 countries and organizations are attending, but Russia and China have opted out. The summit aims to address key issues based on Ukraine's peace proposal and international law principles.
