Only 28% of Needed Donations Filled: Bloodworks Northwest Faces Crisis

Bloodworks Northwest is experiencing a critical blood shortage and has issued a "Code Red" emergency. Factors contributing to the shortage include winter weather, holiday season, increased COVID-19 cases, and staff shortages. Only 28% of the needed donation appointments have been filled, leading to a significant gap. Blood donations, especially of Type O, are urgently needed to support local hospitals and patients.
