Jayda Woods-Johnson's Family Seeks Harsher Penalties for Teen Offenders After Tragedy

Samuel Gizaw, the 16-year-old accused of killing 13-year-old Jayda Woods-Johnson at Alderwood Mall, has been charged as an adult and is in custody. In court, he pleaded not guilty to murder, assault, and firearm possession. Jayda's family expressed their grief and called for harsher penalties for teen offenders. Prosecutors highlighted a rising trend in juvenile crime in Snohomish County, suggesting a need for justice reforms. Police are seeking information on the whereabouts of the firearm used in the shooting and are also looking to identify two girls who were with Gizaw before the incident.
