Israeli Withdrawal Reveals Devastation in Shijaiyah District

After a two-week offensive, Israeli troops withdrew from Gaza City's Shijaiyah district, leaving behind extensive destruction. Families returning to the area found their homes reduced to rubble. Civil defense workers have so far recovered 60 bodies. The conflict, part of a nine-month war between Israel and Hamas, caused around 80,000 residents to flee Shijaiyah. Israel claims to have killed dozens of militants and destroyed eight tunnels, though this is unverified. Most of Gaza's 2.3 million residents are now facing severe hunger in overcrowded camps. The UN has ordered Israel to protect Palestinians amid genocide allegations, which Israel denies.
