Family Fun Awaits at the Seafair Torchlight Parade and Festival

The Seafair Torchlight Parade, a beloved Seattle tradition, returns this Saturday with some exciting changes. This year, the festivities will begin earlier to provide more family-friendly entertainment and activities. The Torchlight Parade Festival kicks off at 1 p.m. at Westlake Park, featuring live entertainment and food trucks. The parade itself will start at 3 p.m., beginning at Seattle Center and traveling down Fourth Avenue to South Washington Street. The event will showcase over 100 entries, including clowns, drill teams, dragon dancers, equestrian units, and the legendary Seafair Pirates. For those interested in a behind-the-scenes look, parade floats will be staged at Pier 91 on Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. The parade will be broadcast live on KIRO 7 and streamed on their apps.

Saurya Airlines Disaster: 18 Killed in Kathmandu Airport Crash

A Saurya Airlines CRJ200 aircraft crashed during takeoff from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, killing 18 of the 19 people onboard. The sole survivor, the captain, is in the hospital. The plane, which was on a test flight, burst into flames after crashing, but the fire was quickly controlled.
