Flags Lowered to Honor Georgette Valle’s Legacy

Washington state honored former Representative Georgette Valle, who died at 99, by flying flags at half-staff. Governor Jay Inslee issued the directive in recognition of her 24-year service in the Washington State Legislature. Valle, an advocate for social justice, environmental issues, and women's rights, left a significant legacy. A memorial service was held at the Normandy Park United Church of Christ. The flags will remain at half-staff until sunset.

Snohomish Man, 29, Killed in Shooting; 58-Year-Old Suspect Detained

A 29-year-old man was fatally shot in Snohomish early Tuesday morning following an altercation with a 58-year-old man, who is now in custody. The incident is under investigation, with the medical examiner handling the victim's identification and cause of death.

Hezbollah Leader Killed in Israeli Airstrike Amid Rising Tensions

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced the killing of Fuad Shukr, a senior Hezbollah commander involved in the deadly drone attack that killed 12 children on a soccer field. Shukr, also linked to the 1983 Marine barracks bombing in Beirut, was a top military advisor in Hezbollah. The IDF's airstrike in southern Beirut targeted Shukr for his role in planning and executing attacks against Israel. The recent escalation follows Hezbollah's denial of involvement in the soccer field attack, which has heightened tensions in the region.
