Community-Favorite Café The Fat Hen Set to Close on September 13

The Fat Hen, a popular brunch café in Ballard, will close on September 13 after nearly a decade in business. The owners, who announced the closure on Instagram, thanked the community for its support. The café, known for its cozy atmosphere and comforting menu, has been a neighborhood favorite. Although the reasons for closing were not disclosed, patrons are invited to visit one last time before the café shuts its doors.

Marysville Police Stop Man Accused of Trying to Snatch Child from Car

A 51-year-old man in Marysville was arrested after attempting to abduct a child from a car, claiming the boy was his. The suspect initially engaged the family in friendly conversation before suddenly trying to force open the car doors, assaulting the boy's father in the process. The suspect fled the scene but was later apprehended by police. He now faces charges of second-degree kidnapping and fourth-degree assault.
