Snohomish County Youths and Police Team Up for Esports Tournament

This week, over 120 youths and 32 law enforcement officers in Snohomish County will compete in an esports tournament organized by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County and the Everett Police Department. The event, featuring the game Rocket League, aims to connect with kids who might not engage in traditional sports while fostering positive relationships between youth and law enforcement. The tournament has doubled in size from last year, with more clubs and agencies participating, and will take place at the Tulalip Boys & Girls Club.

Suspect in Custody for Deadly Seattle Carjacking, Faces Murder and Animal Cruelty Charges

Seattle Police have arrested 48-year-old Jahmed Kamal Haynes for a carjacking that killed 80-year-old Ruth Dalton in Madison Valley. Haynes, who has a criminal history, is accused of forcing Dalton from her car and running her over. He also allegedly stabbed her dog, abandoning its body nearby. Haynes was arrested near his home, with the keys to the stolen car and a bloody knife in his possession. Police linked him to the crime through a fingerprint on the victim's phone.
