Man Shot and Killed in West Seattle, Suspect at Large

A man was fatally shot in West Seattle on Wednesday evening, with police now searching for a suspect. The 29-year-old victim was found at the corner of SW Snoqualmie Street and 36th Avenue SW and later died from his injuries. The suspect, described as a Black man in his 20s or 30s wearing black clothing and a blue surgical mask, fled the scene on foot and may be armed. The West Seattle YMCA went into lockdown during the investigation.

Blinken and Israeli Minister Dermer Discuss Gaza Ceasefire at UN Assembly

Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Israel's Ron Dermer at the UN General Assembly to discuss the possibility of a temporary ceasefire in Gaza. Both sides addressed efforts to promote a U.S.-backed initiative for the safe return of civilians. Follow-up discussions are expected in the coming days.
