Bremerton Earthquake Follows Larger Victoria Quake in Seismic Activity Surge
On Sunday, September 29, 2024, a 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Bremerton, Washington at 7:49 a.m. The epicenter was in the Enetai area, about three miles from Bremerton. Although this quake was relatively minor, it follows a larger 4.0-magnitude earthquake that hit near Victoria, British Columbia a few days earlier on September 26. Both events were felt across the Puget Sound region, including parts of Seattle. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or significant damage from either earthquake.

Seattle Teen Mistakenly Released from Juvenile Detention After Armed Robbery Arrest
A 13-year-old boy arrested for attempting to rob a 12-year-old in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood was mistakenly released from King County's juvenile detention. The teen allegedly tried to steal the younger boy's bike at knifepoint, but due to an administrative error, he was released the next day. Seattle police swiftly re-arrested the boy after discovering the mistake. The incident has raised concerns about procedural lapses in detention facilities and the handling of juvenile cases, especially those involving violent crimes.
