Contract Talks Collapse: Boeing Struggles with Strike and Financial Strain
Boeing has withdrawn a contract offer that included a 30% raise over four years for striking workers, following a breakdown in negotiations. The union rejected the proposal, demanding higher raises, while Boeing claimed the union’s demands were unworkable. The strike, ongoing since mid-September, is further complicating Boeing’s financial situation, leading S&P Global Ratings to place the company on "CreditWatch Negative," raising concerns about future borrowing costs. Boeing's stock has fallen 41% this year amid these challenges.
