Health Experts Warn of Disease Resurgence Amid Vaccine Declines
Declining childhood vaccination rates are leading to a resurgence of preventable diseases like whooping cough. Health experts from the University of Washington are concerned about low immunization levels, which could trigger broader outbreaks of diseases like measles. Lower rates of vaccinations also increase the risk of respiratory viruses, such as RSV and influenza, this season. Healthcare systems may face new pressures as patient loads rise. However, advances like monoclonal antibody treatments for RSV and the self-administration of FluMist offer some relief for families.

Israel Resumes Beirut Strikes Amid U.S. Pressure to Curb Military Actions
Israel has resumed airstrikes on Hezbollah strongholds in southern Beirut, following warnings from the U.S. over the increasing civilian toll. The strikes are part of Israel's broader campaign against Hezbollah, which has left over 2,350 dead in Lebanon. While the U.S. has criticized Israel's military strategy, Israeli forces continue targeting Hezbollah's tunnel networks and military infrastructure. Hezbollah launched over 90 rockets in response, escalating tensions further.
