Snohomish County Drug Network Exposed: 15-Year Term for Ringleader, Others Sentenced
A federal drug trafficking case in Snohomish County has concluded, with the final sentencing handed down earlier this year. Key defendant Juan de Dios Alcaraz-Mardueno received nine years in prison for distributing meth, fentanyl, and heroin. The operation’s ringleader, Cesar Valdez-Sanudo, was sentenced to 15 years, with additional prison terms given to over a dozen others involved. Federal agents dismantled the network in 2020, seizing large amounts of drugs, firearms, and cash. Requests for reduced sentences were denied.

An Israeli airstrike on a displaced persons' camp in southern Gaza killed at least 21 people and injured 28, as part of its military campaign against Hamas militants. The strike, targeting the overcrowded Muwasi area, occurred amid a war that has displaced 90% of Gaza's population and caused significant casualties on both sides.
