Seattle Housing Prices Climb as Market Tightens Further in 2024

Seattle remains one of the most expensive and competitive housing markets in the U.S., with a median home price of $734,700 in November 2024, a 5.7% year-over-year increase. Despite having the lowest inventory in the nation, the region experienced a 21.7% surge in home sales. Homes are selling slightly slower, averaging 61 days on the market. Seattle ranks as the fifth most expensive metro area, and while the market faces challenges, supply improvements are anticipated in 2025.

Teen Stabbed at Lions Park; Suspect Remains at Large

A juvenile male was stabbed early this morning at Lions Park in Everett. The victim, known to the suspect, was hospitalized and underwent surgery. Police searched the area using K9 units and drones but have not located the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.

Russian General Killed in Scooter Bombing; Ukraine’s Role Alleged

Russian security services have detained an Uzbek national accused of carrying out a bombing that killed Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov and his assistant in Moscow. The attack, claimed by Ukraine’s security service, was executed with a bomb hidden on an electric scooter. The suspect, reportedly recruited by Ukraine, allegedly received promises of financial reward and resettlement in Europe.
